The conference allowed delegates to present and discuss, in an informal setting, research ranging from early drafts to fully developed papers. This event focused on the use of business archives for genealogical research, including oral history archives. It gave attendees an opportunity to discuss and explore with academics and archivists how business archive collections can be used for their research.

BACS 'Get some backbone! - Hydrophobe choices!' meeting - Libra Chemicals
The first of these was held on Wednesday 13th August at the Diageo Archive, Glenochil House, Menstrie and the focus of the afternoon was Anniversaries. We focused specifically on how to engage with the business, sharing hints and tips, best practice and experiences.
This first event was be open to non-members of BACS. Future events will only be open to BACS members.
Scottish Business and Industrial History Conference March On Wednesday 5 March at the University of Stirling a one day conference was held to explore a wide range of themes relating to the economic, social, business and industrial development of Scotland and beyond from the medieval period onwards, including developments of UK significance. Resources from the day will be made available shortly.
